There's a lot to Like about this car but the fact that the cracked wiring insulation I find When looking closely in the car, which was never acknowledged by the manufacturer, leads me to completely distrust the manufacturer. But it was never recalled so when I researched vehicles before I bought this car, it didn't have any outstanding recalls on car fax. I found out that the wiring insulation used by Ford was a soybean based, which rodents found to be very tasty. Obviously that was a symptom, not the problem. I've replaced the socket (the original one looked scorched). The fuse for that bulb in that particular operation will blow immediately when the dash knob is turned to "lights on".
